Meet Horacio Jones

Guitarist in San Diego

I’m Horacio Jones, a classical guitarist originally from Acapulco, Mexico, now based in San Diego. My musical path started in Texas, where I fell in love with rock legends like Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix. After saving up for my first guitar through odd jobs, I played in local rock bands until a chance meeting with guitarist Stanley Yates introduced me to the world of classical music.

Hearing pieces by Leo Brouwer and Bach opened up a whole new universe of sound for me, so I decided to study further at the University of North Texas. Today, I focus on giving honest, expressive performances that bridge my early rock influences with the rich traditions of classical guitar.

 

Where I Am Now

These days, I’m a “classical guitarist in San Diego” who performs at a wide range of events—from weddings and corporate gatherings to intimate concerts and private parties. My goal is to bring a grounded, heartfelt quality to every piece I play. If you’ve got a specific request, I’m happy to learn it. I also bring my own amplification and microphones, so sound setup is one less thing for you to worry about.

Beyond music, I’m also a professional video producer trained in live streaming, camera operation, and video editing. Through my production company, Cinemaviva, I collaborate with clients on everything from corporate livestreams to promotional videos.
